It's a BOY!

We had an early ultrasound just for Christmas. We found out that we are expecting another BOY! I am very excited that Garrett will have a little brother to grow up with! We ordered cupcakes from Take the Cake bakery and had them fill the inside with blue icing. The outside looked just like regular cupcakes. No one in our family new we were even having the ultrasound, so they had no idea.
We went to my parents house on Christmas eve. We all sat around and ate snacks. When everyone was finishing up, we told them we had the early ultrasound and in order for them to find out the gender of the baby, they had to bite into the cupcakes. Dad was acting so silly in this photo! He had to be dramatic. They were happy with the results. They were all hoping for a girl but just want a healthy baby!
On Christmas day, we went to Clint's parents. I let him do all the talking. He did so good! He told them the same thing about our early ultrasound. He also made them all get a cupcake and take a bite at the same time! They were excited! The cupcakes were a big hit!
We decided on the name Logan Cole Johnson. I named Garrett and Clint named this baby. I love the name. I think having 2 boys has a lot of pros! I hope they grow up very close and will take care of their momma when she gets old!
Garrett had a fantastic Christmas! Santa brought him lots of goodies. The only thing he wants to play with is his new train table! He also loved the snow. He didn't want to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner because he just wanted to play! He said over and over last night, "I wuv my twains!"

Helloooooooo Camera! This is the Kodak Zi8.... and this is what I would like for Christmas. It is a HD video pocket camera. My principal has one and it looks so amazing. I could stick it straight in my pocket or throw it in my purse and go! I've read all the reviews and they all say this camera is much better than a flip camera. It holds 10 hours of HD video. I can also download my videos onto Youtube or Facebook to share with friends and family.
On another note, I am finally 14 weeks on Friday. I am over the 1st trimester and feeling fantastic! I can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I feel like my stomach is much larger at this point than it was with Garrett. I've heard you "look" larger with your second child. I have my next doctor's appointment on December 22. I hope to get another great report from my doctor. Garrett says he wants a "sissy". Daddy would like another boy. I just want a healthy baby either gender. :)
Christmas is getting closer and closer and I am so excited. I can't wait to see Garrett's face when he wakes up on Christmas morning to find what Santa has left him!!! We plan on starting a family tradition by baking Santa cookies on Christmas Eve.
Garrett's birthday is getting close so I've got to start planning his 2nd birthday party. All he wants is Thomas the train. Thomas party it will be. A friend of the family gave us free Thomas birthday invitations. He is going to be so excited.
I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Opryland Vacation

Clint, Garrett, and I took a family vacation to Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tn. this past weekend. It was beautiful! You could not see a single sign that there had been a flood. Everything looked perfect! Friday we arrived and had a hard time finding a place inside to have lunch because of so many people. I made reservations that night at Solario's. Solario's was the mexican restaurant inside the hotel. It was fantastic! They had the best chicken fajitas that I've ever eaten! It felt like we walked a thousand miles that evening looking at everything. Each time we went walking around, we found new places inside the hotel that we had not seen yet. It was huge!
We took Garrett to the ICE show. It had 2 million pounds of carved ice. It was 9 degrees inside to keep the ice so perfect. They made us wear special coats to keep us warm. I let Garrett ride down the ice slide. He liked it until he got stuck half way down.
Saturday we got up and at breakfast at Cascades. That was a wonderful breakfast. I had a ham, bacon, sausage, etc. omelet. Clint had the California b'fast. He had sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, etc. Garrett ate so much, I thought he was going to be sick! We decided to eat pizza for lunch. That night we made reservations at the Cascades again. I had a flat iron steak with a special horse radish sauce. Clint had herb chicken with sweet potatoes. It was good but VERY expensive and classy!
That day we went to the Grand Ole Opry to see the Rockett's! They were fantastic! Garrett sat through the entire 2 hour show with his eyes glued! He loved it. I was so afraid he wasn't going to sleep good each night. He was so exhausted that he just fell asleep both nights. He did great.
Sunday morning Garrett got to eat breakfast with Santa. The breakfast was amazing. They had a buffet with every kind of breakfast food that you could think of. After breakfast, we loaded up the car and headed home. Opryland Hotel is an amazing place that everyone should experience. Next time, I hope Clint and I could have a get away.... just the two of us. That would be such a romantic place. It is a great place for a winter honeymoon!

Christmas is Around the Corner!

Christmas is around the corner and I love it! Garrett is already excited when he sees the trees lit up in the mall. I can't wait until I can put up all of our decorations. I plan on starting today.
I have my 10 week doctor's appointment today. I should get to hear the baby's heartbeat! I am so excited. I will feel relieved when I hear that everything is okay with this baby. Each visit during the 1st trimester makes me a bit nervous.

Toddler Johnson

Garrett is 19 months old. He is full-speed, non-stop, and continuous until bedtime. He loves to pull out all the vents in the floor, pull off his socks, pull everything out of my bottom kitchen/bathroom cabinets. He is so intelligent. His vocabulary is getting larger and larger everyday. He loves trains and books!
He is the most amazing thing in my life. It seemed just like yesterday that Clint and I were waking up and getting ready to go to the hospital for the delivery. Time has flown by. Garrett has taught me many things about myself. God has blessed me with an amazing gift and I thank God for him everyday.
The best thing that Garrett has said to me so far is, "Wuv you Momma" and "night night wuv you". If I am every feeling down, I just look at him and he makes things better. I love him so much. He loves his daddy. Daddy and Garrett get into so much! They love being outside together. Garrett's favorite thing is riding on the lawn mower. Now he loves wearing his baseball cap. Dad bought him a miniature wallet also! So cute!
I have a few friends that have faced some hard times with conceiving. I pray for them daily that God will bless them with all the experiences that I have been blessed with. God has a plan for them! After being around them, it is hard for me to see all these young girls that have babies everyday and just don't care. They don't take care of them and a family member usually takes over.
I also have a few friends who are on the same journey of parenthood as I am. Lauren & Joseph will soon get to experience holding their own child for the first time. They will not fully understand until they see their child for the first time in the delivery room. AMAZING! Jennifer & Clay were blessed with the delivery of beautiful twin girls today! She will be an amazing mom and he will be a fantastic father!
    God is amazing!

Halloween Weekend

This weekend has gone by fast! Clint and I tried to do a little Christmas shopping Saturday but we came up empty handed. We didn't buy anything. We have no idea what to buy people in our family. That isn't anything new. I go through the same thing every Christmas. I will go shopping several times and come home without a single bag. When it comes down to the last minute and I know that I have to buy something.... then I will. I can shop all day for Garrett or myself. By the time we went to a few stores and ate lunch, I was feeling sick again and was ready to come home.

Saturday afternoon it came time to dress Garrett in his costume. He acted so excited about it. My parents bought him a set of mini toy guns in Gatlinburg. We started dressing him in his cowboy costume and he started crying and pitching a fit! I finally got him dressed and wanted to take his picture. He was so mad. He finally let me take a few snapshots and then I took his outfit back off. We drove to Clint's parents and I dressed him when we arrived. He did great that time because he wanted to play with his cousins. He was so cute.

After we left the first set of grandparents, we went to the other set. We took him to my parents house. He had candy and mom bought him a Thomas train and an Arthur train. (He loves trains!) Then we took him to a Trunk-or-Treat. He got more candy than he needed.... but he had a blast!

Week 8 of Baby Johnson #2

I will be 8 weeks tomorrow. This pregnancy has been completely different from my first pregnancy with Garrett. I was sooooo sick with him from week 7 to week 14. Now I am nauseous but not as "sick" as I was with him. Clint read in our book yesterday, "What to Expect When Your Expecting". He read that if the woman is eating A LOT now... then it is probably a boy. He reads a lot and tells me what I should be doing and what is best for the baby! He is wonderful. He is the best dad. I couldn't imagine anyone else being the father to my children. I have been eating so much! I already know that I will gain more weight with this child! I was so sick the first time, that I didn't want to eat. I am so excited to hear baby Johnson's heartbeat. I didn't get to hear it last time. My next doctor visit is November 16. I love my doctor and her nurses! They are the best in town. Well, everyone is hoping it is a girl this time. We have a boy named picked out.... but we are going to keep it to ourselves for a while. We still aren't certain on a girl name.
Work has been a struggle lately. Teaching 5th grade is much more of a challenge for me. Sometimes it is fun but a lot of times, it is very stressful. I try to enjoy everyday but sometimes it is hard. I think the morning sickness is not much of a help with my 5th grade experience! ;)
I have learned that God only gives me what he knows I can handle. I have to remind myself of that daily!

New Blogger!

This is my first time blogging! So be patient with me. I am trying to keep up with all this technology. Blogging will soon be implemented in our schools. :) So much is going on with technology... I can't seem to keep from drowning in it all! I hope to learn more about this and add something every few days.
